The Bridge to Brave is a tender, empowering story for tamariki navigating big emotion's. With poetic warmth and vibrant illustrations, the book follows a child's journey through uncertainty, fear, and healing, gently guiding readers to build inner strength, seek connection, and discover their own brave bridges.
Inspired by real conversations with my own children and informed by a deep care for emotional well-being, I, Mary-Ann wrote this story to offer support, understanding and hope. As both author and illustrator, I have crafted a book that invites family, teachers, and clinicians to engage with tamariki in meaningful ways, using story telling as a bridge to brave discussions about feelings and resilience.
My mission is simple but powerful: to create resources that speak to children's hearts, honor their inner worlds, and help grown-ups nurture emotional literacy through shared experience.
A sneak peek into The Bridge to Brave
The journey begins quietly, beneath the canopy of feeling - where fears hide and bravery starts to stir.
In reflection, we begin to see our strength-even when it feels hidden.
Every brave step is lit by hope - even when the path feels unknown.
